LS7 Peterson Oil Tank “trim panel” Aluminum

February 18, 2016  by Shane

This “trim panel” is designed to clean up the appearance of the engine bay if you are mounting the Peterson oil tank on the passenger side of your GTM engine bay.  The aluminum panel provided by FFR for this area has the large rectangular cut-out in it to fit the donor LS1 fuse block.  If you are running a crate LS7 or other engine with a dry sump oiling system, and using the Peterson tank on the passenger side, the aluminum panel ends up looking pretty hacked up and….well……ugly.  This “trim panel” is designed as a “cover panel” for this area to cover up all of that ugliness.  See the “before and after” photos below.

Since you will have the FFR aluminum panel off the car in order to install the Peterson tank, this panel is designed so you can copy your rivet hole pattern by tucking this panel under the FFR panel and drill thru the exiting holes in the panel.  Once all of the holes are transferred to the new panel, simply install this new panel over top of the old one.  This panel is made from the same .040″ 6061 Aluminum as the FFR panel.
